About Your Facilitator: Jeff Almon, DC

Dr. Jeff Almon, DC is continuously learning to understand what the body needs to perform at its best. Since we’re not built with an instruction manual, his goal is to add his chapter to the never ending book on movement science.

Being a former high-performance athlete, Jeff aims on helping individuals attain high-performance bodies and minds through a functional neurological approach, through effective manual therapy approaches and an innovative functional approach on movement.

Jeff’s early years were marked by his dedication to sports. From 1997 to 2002, he played college football with the University of Calgary Dinos, where he co-captained the team in his final two seasons and earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology.

His athletic career took a professional turn when he was drafted into the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a fullback. He played for the Calgary Stampeders and later the BC Lions. In 2004, he decided to pursue a different path and was accepted into the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College's Doctor of Chiropractic program.

After obtaining his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree in 2008, Dr. Almon transitioned to consulting and treating professional athletes and sports teams. Notable clients included the Chinese National Speed Skating Team, PGA Tour athletes, FIVB Volleyball athletes, the Vancouver Canucks development program, the Canadian Women's soccer team, professional sprint cyclists, and multiple Olympic athletes.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Almon assumed a coaching role for the London Legion Track and Field Club and eventually the West Vancouver Track & Field Club, imparting his knowledge of functional movement to young athletes.

In 2013, he founded MVMTLAB with the goal of transforming the healthcare experience. Dr. Almon specializes in complex cases of chronic pain, focusing on neuroprotective patterns and reactive stability. He emphasizes patient involvement in the recovery process and welcomes individuals from all backgrounds.

Dr. Almon's contribution to the field includes the development of MVMTLAB's Neuroplasticity Gym, offering group classes called Ground Control and the Shoulder Codex among others. He is also developing a manual treatment course called “Entry Point” to help practitioners treat complex cases. These programs aim to expedite injured patients' recovery and serve as injury prevention protocols. He is also an affiliate clinician at the University of Western States in Portland Oregon.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Jeff Almon is passionate about sharing his knowledge and ideas to enhance the human experience.
