Set yourself straight by going-on autopilot.
Unlike the Shoulder Codex and Ground Control, which are very effort-intensive, Centrepoint lies on the other end of the spectrum of motor control; automatic control. This program relies on the inborn mechanisms of the self-righting reflexes.
It’s a trust game with yourself.
Knowing that the balance centres include vision, the vestibular system and the sensory system of the tissues of the body, we strategize and upgrade the weakest link. The goal is to deeply anchor your base of support deep into gravity's line of pull and solely rely on sensory input from the loaded tissues of your body.
Your cerebellum will be a hot furnace of input from the receptors based in your skin, fascia, muscle and joints. This will challenge the automatic self righting while the basal ganglia will fine tune your motor output, automatically.
As you get used to loading your skeleton appropriately, you will focus on foot stability and disengage startle reflexes by using strategies to modulate your sway patterns. During this process you will have to deal with aching and shaking in your feet, hips and lower leg.
Challenges will be increased through subtle changes in eye positioning, head positioning and foot positioning in your base of support. Soon enough, you will notice how walking will load the correct structures and ease of standing will be apparent.
Join our 30-day program or our in-person classes to build your interoception and upgrade the abilities of your balance centres by finding your Centrepoint.
